SP, BSP have ditched Muslims, claims Asaduddin Owaisi

Sambhal: Attempting to woo Muslim electorate of Uttar Pradesh, AIMIM national president Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday blamed Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for ditching Muslims.

Addressing an election rally here in favour of AIMIM candidate Ziaur Rahman Barq, grandson of Shafiqur Rahman Barq, Owaisi said that SP and BSP have been making false promises of giving reservation to the Muslims. In fact both the parties failed to do anything worthwhile for the minority community in UP, he observed.

Reminding the gathering of the statement of Mulayam Singh Yadav, he said, "The SP patriarch himself admitted that his son and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was against Muslims."

"Akhilesh says his 'work speaks'. He claims in his speeches across UP that SP government has constructed lots of roads. But I saw a number of pits on roads while coming to Sambhal," said Asaduddin Owaisi, adding, "There are no doctors in district hospital to treat the poor people here"

He dared Akhilesh Yadav to give reply to his questions during his Sambhal visit on February 12. "If Akhilesh replies, I will come back here to answer his comments the next day," he said.

Accusing the SP leaders of looting the state for the past several years, he begged people to help Shafiqur Rahman Barq's grandson reach into the Parliament. He also alleged that during the five years of SP government, only the Yadav community has developed.
