Newly elected Uttar Pradesh legislators to take oath on March 27

Lucknow: Acting on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's proposal, Governor Ram Naik on Wednesday appointed Fateh Bahadur as the Acting President (Pro Tem Speaker) of the state assembly.

The Governor also named Durga Prasad Yadav, Ram Pal Verma and Fagu Chauhan to look after the preparations of swearing-in of the newly elected state legislators, scheduled to take place on March 27.

It may be mentioned that according to the Article -180 (1) of the Indian Constitution, until the Vidhan Sabha does not name its new President, state Governor appoints an acting President (Pro Tem Speaker) to take care of the functioning of the assembly.
