Disruption of power supply to CM's new office: a chief engineer removed from post

Lucknow: The power supply chief of Lucknow had to bear the brunt of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's wrath after the latter had to return from his office which was without electricity on Monday morning.

The UP CM had gone to his new office 'Lok Bhawan' in the morning but the building, which was inaugurated only a few days ago, was without power. Naturally, it did not go well with the CM who left the office in a huff.

The authorities wasted no time in removing Ashutosh Srivastava, chief engineer of Lucknow Electricity Supply Authority (LESA) from the post after receiving this report. Other two power engineers- Superintending Engineer (SE) G D Dwivedi and Shailendra , the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) of Hussainganj power station have been transferred from their present postings with immediate effect.
