Lucknow: The dance performance by Mulayam Singh Yadav's daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav on a popular song from the controversial movie 'Padmavati' has irked the Shree Rajput Karni Sena, an organisation of the Rajput community.

The song 'Ghoomar' has been originally performed by actress Deepika Padukone in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial.

A video, showing Aparna Yadav, the wife of Mulayam's younger son Prateek Yadav, performing at her brother's engagement ceremony at a five-star hotel in Lucknow has gone viral over the internet.

The video has not gone well with the Karni Sena which has been opposing the release of the controversial movie claiming that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has shown Rajput queen Padmavati in the bad light.

"It is very shameful if someone is dancing to such controversial tunes. You are trying to upset us with this act, it will be better if you (Aparna) do not do such things," said the Karni Sena on Wednesday.

It is worth mentioning that Karni Sena has demanded a nationwide ban on the release of the movie which according to them has shown distorted historical facts.

Some states have even banned the release of the film. The release of the movie, which was earlier scheduled for December 1, has been postponed.
