A curious case of bribe allegation in UP CM secretariat

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath had to intervene and ask Chief Secretary Rajive Kumar to send him a report in the case related to a sensational allegation of corruption in CM secretariat.

The person who levelled the allegation was taken into custody for questioning as he had alleged that a bribe of Rs 25 lakh was demanded by the Principal Secretary of the Chief Minister. A BJP functionary filed a FIR under sections 419,420 and 500 of Indian Penal Code against him, on the basis of which he was taken into custody.

One Abhishek Gupta had alleged that bribe was demanded in a matter related to a piece of land for petrol pump in Hardoi district, adjacent to state capital. He had with him a audio clip in which he was in conversation with CM secretariat officials and some big BJP names were mentioned in that.

A FIR was lodged against him as the allegations were being rubbished in official and political circles. Meanwhile, the Governor Ram Naik had also written a letter to CM Yogi in this regard which prompted him to ask for a report in this regard.
