100 patients suffering mysterious fever brings panic in Agra

Agra: A mysterious fever has created panic among the residents and the authorities in a village of Taj city of Agra affecting more than 100 persons.

About 25 critically ill patients with the complaints of fever, backache and vomiting had to be rushed to speciality hospitals from Bhavain village of Etmadpur Tehsil of Agra in Uttar Pradesh during last 10 days.

The doctors, however, denied occurrence of Dengue saying it was viral fever, logistics of which are under investigation.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Agra, BS Yadav said several teams of doctors and paramedical staff have been sent to the village and the hospitals where such patients are admitted. He said the best possible treatment is being given to them and there is no shortage of medicine and medical facilities.

The medical authorities are on their toes since many places in the state have been receiving complaints of Dengue and Dengue type fever.
