The Uttar Pradesh government has given ₹1300 crore from the CM Relief Fund in one year to support medical treatment of poor families, and this update was shared by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while opening a new private hospital in Noida. He said the state is trying to make sure that every poor person gets advanced medical care without fear of high hospital bills, and many families are now using Ayushman Bharat and CM Jan Arogya Yojana to get free treatment.
UP’s Big Push For Free And Fast Medical Support
The chief minister explained that earlier many families struggled for expensive treatment. People sold land, mortgaged jewellery, and still could not afford surgeries like cancer care, kidney issues, bypass operations, liver cirrhosis and more. He said the last few years changed this because the double-engine government focused on giving poor families direct access to good hospitals without delay, and this is why the CM Relief Fund was used more actively.
He mentioned that ₹1300 crore from this fund reached empanelled hospitals across the state, and patients received treatment without carrying large medical bills. He said this amount reflects how fast the state wants to support people in serious health situations and keep medical facilities open for everyone, including people in remote regions.
Ayushman Bharat And CM Jan Arogya Yojana Changing Access
Yogi Adityanath said around 10 crore people in Uttar Pradesh are now connected through Ayushman Bharat and CM Jan Arogya Yojana. He explained that the national scheme offers up to ₹5 lakh free treatment for nearly 50 crore people in the country, and UP widened the scope by adding families left out earlier but still needing help.
He said that eight to ten years back, good hospitals felt far away for poor families, but now the process is smoother because treatment is cashless, and hospitals are following a clear policy structure made by the state. He added that UP worked actively on bringing more hospitals under this structure so each district gets fair access to proper medical facilities.
Modern Healthcare Plans And Technology Usage
The chief minister also described how the government used technology to reach areas with fewer doctors or weak infrastructure. During COVID-19, UP launched a virtual ICU under a hub-and-spoke model so serious cases could get specialist guidance even from remote areas. He said the state is now working with IIT Kanpur to build a MedTech Centre of Excellence. This centre is expected to bring new innovations in medical devices, equipment and hospital technology for the state.
He repeated that India has moved ahead in healthcare and Uttar Pradesh cannot remain behind, so new hospitals, new policies and fast-tracked support systems are being built to keep quality high and affordable for all citizens.
Clear Focus On Poor Families And Emergency Cases
Throughout his speech, Yogi Adityanath said that even the poorest person should be able to get treatment for major diseases without losing savings or property. He said the combined support from the CM Relief Fund and national schemes makes this possible. He added that the government will keep improving hospital networks district by district and expand strong medical infrastructure in both cities and rural areas.
The chief minister said the aim is simple: healthcare that reaches quickly, treats fully and supports families with dignity, without forcing them into financial trouble.
