Ted Cruz drops out of the USA presidential primaries

Washington DC: Ted Cruz, the republican candidate for the USA presidential primaries dropped out of the race, on Tuesday .

“We are suspending our journey,” stated Cruz.

What else Ted Cruz said:

The republican candidate in a video of his concession speech said, “From the beginning, I've said that I would continue as long as there was a viable path to victory and tonight, it appears that path has been foreclosed."

Cruz said that his team participated wholeheartedly in the primaries and he accepts the people’s decision. “My team gave it everything they had, but the voters chose another path,” stated Cruz while addressing public meeting after the Indiana results.

He further added, "I am not suspending our fight for liberty. I am suspending our fight to defend the constitution; to defend the Judeo-Christian values that built America."

Accompanied by his wife Heidi, Ted Cruz said that that although he was suspending the campaign, he was optimistic about the future of America.

The announcement first came from Cruz' campaign manager, reported an American daily.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee issued a statement on Cruz Tuesday saying: "Ted Cruz was never going to save the Republican Party from Donald Trump, and his status as potential saviour was a sign of the GOP's desperate times."
