Pant will become one of the pillars of Indian Cricket: Dravid

New Delhi: Tagging Rishabh Pant as the future of Indian cricket, Cricket legend Rahul Dravid on Monday said the way 19-year old played in the Indian Premier League 10 after overcoming a personal tragedy is phenomenal.

Despite losing his father couple of days before Delhi Daredevils inaugural match, Pant featured in team’s opening encounter.

"The way Pant played throughout the season is spectacular and inspiring as he had lost his father days before our first game," said Rahul Dravid.

"He will go on to become on the pillars of Indian Cricket," he added.

Over Delhi's inability of making place in the playoffs, Dravid said that the side lost close games which pushed Delhi out of the playoff hunt.

"You need eight wins to qualify in this tournament, we got seven last year, six this year and I think the close games we lost probably cost us," said former Indian skipper.

The young Cricket sensation Rishabh Pant has been eyed as one for the future. The way he performed in the Indian Premier League 10, he has taken everyone by surprise and also lionised for the same.
