Imphal: Major Amit Deswal of 21 Para was killed in an encounter with Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) militants in Manipur’s Tamenglong district on Thursday morning, confirmed army officials.
One militant was also killed in the encounter which occurred during a combing operation by the Rashtriya Rifles and personnel of Special Forces.
Major Amit Deswal, hailed from Jhajjar district in Haryana.
