Cairo: Egypt’s culture minister Helmi el-Namnam on Monday ordered the national library of the country to translate a book based on the diaries of the first Nobel laureate of India, Rabindra Nath Tagore, in Arabic.

Helmi received the book as a gift by the Indian ambassador after they jointly released it in a book exhibition at the National Library of Egypt in Cairo. The exhibition, which will end on Thursday, is held to mark the writer’s 155th birth anniversary (May 7) in Egypt.

According to Helmi, the celebration of Tagore’s birth anniversary was important to strengthen relations between the two countries
