Will Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Gold’ continue minting gold this week?

Mumbai: Released on the day of Independence, Akki’s Gold filled every Indian heart with patriotism and pride. The movie is still getting all the praise and applaud for it’s amazing story-line and direction. It is a fictional story but is inspired by real events and people.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently shared the latest figures of Gold in a tweet that read, “#Gold has an EXCELLENT *extended* opening weekend… Took a dip on Day 2, but gradually picked up from Day 3 to Day 5… All eyes on Mon-Thu biz… Wed 25.25 cr, Thu 8.10 cr, Fri 10.10 cr, Sat 12.30 cr, Sun 15.55 cr. Total: 71.30 cr. India biz.”

Written by Rajesh Devraj and Reema Kagti, the story is set in 90’s era when India got its independence from British Raj. ‘Gold’ opens in Berlin, where Junior Manager Tapan Das (Akshay Kumar) is carting the hockey team to 1936 Olympics. The movie has shown India playing in two hockey matches pre and post-Independence. During world war-2 the Olympics tournament were cancelled, and India as an Independent country gets to participates in the 1948 Olympics. Tapan Das takes the initiative of forming an Indian Hockey team to represent the country in Olympics. India wins the Gold Medal in 1948 Olympics bringing laurels to the country.
