New Delhi: Indian bowler Mohammed Shami on Monday gave a befitting reply to the religious fanatics who have gone public to criticise dress of his wife Hasin Jahan, saying, "Jalte Rahoo'.
Sharing a family picture on Facebook, Shami silenced the fanatics, saying, “Not everyone achieves milestones in their lives, there are only some lucky ones who achieve it. Stay jealous. These two [referring to wife and daughter] are my life and my life partners. I very well known what I’m supposed to do and what not. We should introspect on how we are as human beings.”
Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif was among the firsts to come out in Shami’s support, saying, “there are much bigger issues in our nation and we should support the pacer.”
“The comments are really really Shameful. Support Mohammed Shami fully. There are much bigger issues in this country. Hope sense prevails,” said Kaif in a tweet.
