Neeraj Chopra wins gold medal in Lausanne diamond league

Indian javelin throw player Neeraj chopra has won gold medal in Lausanne diamond league on Friday. He won this medal by throwing 87.66 meter javelin in fifth attempt.

Indian javelin throw player Neeraj chopra has won gold medal in Lausanne diamond league on Friday. He won this medal by throwing 87.66 meter javelin in fifth attempt.

It was his eighth International gold medal. Before this he had won in Asian Games, South Asian Games, Olympic and Diamond league. Incidentally he came out from a leg injury after one month treatment.

Interestingly he began his throw with a foul. In the second round he was able to throw 83.51 meter, and in the third round 85.04 meter. He fouled again in the fourth round but came back strongly in the fifth round with a throw of 87.66 meter. Though he threw only 84.15 meter in the sixth round he bagged the prize on the basis of his best score in the fifth round.

Julian Weber from Germany won silver medal with the total score of 87.03 meter.
