IPL 10 SRH vs RCB: Yuvraj blitz brings Hyderabad to 207 against Bangalore

Hyderabad: Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) piled up a huge first inning total of 207/4 in against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match of Indian Premier League (IPL) season 10 at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium here on Wednesday.

After a sizzling performance by Bollywood star Amy Jackson at the IPL opening ceremony, it was the turn of Yuvraj Singh to show his batting blitz, as he smashed a rapid fire half-century off 23-balls, before finally getting out at 62 runs off just 27 balls hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Moises Henriques also scored a splendid half-century scoring 52 runs off 37 balls hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. Shikhar Dhawan started off nicely but once again failed to capitalise and got out after scoring 40 runs off 31 balls, hitting 5 flourishing fours.

Earlier, captain David Warner gave his team a flying start as he scored 14 runs off just 8 balls with 2 fours and a six. Ben Cutting played an aggressive cameo of 16 runs off just 6 balls with 2 sixes during the slog overs, while Deepak Hooda also managed to score 16 runs off 12 balls with 1 six.

RCB frontline spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who bagged 21 wickets in the ninth season of IPL, bowled a superb spell of four overs giving away just 22 runs for one wicket. He, however, could have bagged more wickets but some crucial chances were dropped.

Aniket Choudhary, though, bagged the much important wicket of Warner, but went extremely expensive in his four over giving away – runs. Tymal Mills and Stuart Binny also plucked a wicket each in their respective spells.

RCB will soon come back on the ground to chase down a mammoth target of 208 runs.
