After the end of the third day's play of the first Test match, England has scored 316 runs for 6 wickets in their second innings. 

England has taken a lead of 125 runs over India. At the time of stumps, Ollie Pope is unbeaten on 148 runs at the crease. With him at the crease, Rehan Ahmeda is unbeaten after scoring 16 runs. 

For India, Bumrah and Ashwin have been successful in taking 2-2 wickets, while Axar Patel and Jadeja have been successful in taking 1-1 wicket. 

Earlier during the first session on the third day, the remaining 3 wickets of India had fallen quickly. India's innings was folded on 436 runs. Team India had gained a lead of 190 runs over England. Jadeja scored the most runs for India. 

Jadeja was out after scoring 87 runs whereas KL Rahul played an inning of 86 runs and Jaiswal played an inning of 80 runs, Akshar Patel was out as the last batsman after scoring 44 runs. For England, Joe Root got 4 wickets while Rehan Ahmed was successful in taking 2 wickets. Apart from this, Tom Hartley was also successful in taking 2 wickets and Jack Leach was successful in taking 1 wicket. 

By the end of the second day's play, India had taken a lead of 175 runs over England. Jadeja and Akshar Patel were present at the crease. England's first innings was all out for 246 runs, after which the Indian batsmen batted fiercely. Actually, in the Test, England had won the toss and decided to bat first. Indian spinners bowled brilliantly due to which England could score only 246 runs in the first innings.
