After Indrajeet,Indian sprinter Dharambir Singh fails dope test

New Delhi: Indian sprinter, Dharambir Singh, who was the first Indian athlete to qualify for the 200 metre event at the Rio games has failed the drug test conducted by National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).

Dharambir was Scheduled to leave for Rio on Tuesday morning but was asked to stay back after failing the drug test.

  • Dharambir qualified for the Indian grand Prix Athletics event in Bangalore in July within 20.45 seconds.

  • Dharambir is the third Indian after Narsingh Yadav and Inderjeet Singh to face doping charges.
  • NADA is yet to inform the Athletics Federation of India about Dharambir's case.
