Nitish Kumar, BJP colleague hit at Giriraj Singh over 'Iftar' remarks

I don't know what he tweeted. Let me say, I am proud to be a Hindu. I take part in Holi programs too, not just Iftar. I have been a part of Iftar celebrations for 25 years. People who never hosted a Holi Milan party are raising questions today, said Sushil Modi.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Tuesday, slammed Union Minister Giriraj Singh for his provocative remarks over the former's Eid celebration photos.

Taking to Twitter, Nitish said, "Giriraj Singh makes such remarks deliberately, so that you (media) make news out of it."

Not only Nitish, but Singh's BJP colleague Sushil Modi too hit out at Giriraj for his anti-Hindu remarks.

He said, "I don't know what he tweeted. Let me say, I am proud to be a Hindu. I take part in Holi programs too, not just Iftar. I have been a part of Iftar celebrations for 25 years. People who never hosted a Holi Milan party are raising questions today."

Giriraj Singh stirred controversy when he commented on a photo in which Nitish, Sushil Modi and Ram Vilas Paswan were seen smiling during an Iftar Party hosted by Jitan Ram Manjhi of the Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular).

Singh said, "How beautiful would this picture have been if a Navratri meal would have been organised with the same eagerness. Why do we hold back on our own faith and get into pretence."
