New Delhi: When no reply was received to the letters sent to Islamabad regarding the Pathankot airbase attack case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday sent first ‘formal request’ for paying a visit to Pakistan to carry forward its investigation into the case.
According to sources, NIA has sent a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), which will then forward it to the Pakistani authorities.
Highlights:
- The NIA wants to record statements of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar, his brother Abdul Rauf along with Shahid Latif and Kashif Jaan, the accused handlers of the terror attack.
- Earlier, a joint investigation team from Pakistan had visited India to carry out its own probe into the attack.
