Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BSP Candidate Richest in Lucknow, DEETS inside

In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Lucknow sees Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate, Sarwar Malik, emerging as the wealthiest contestant. According to the affidavits submitted to the Election Commission, he possesses assets worth ₹25.8 crores. Meanwhile, Mohammad Ahmad from the Social Democratic Party of India emerges as the poorest candidate with only ₹1.18 lakhs to his name. BJP candidate Rajnath Singh doesn't even own a car.

Two Candidates Lacking College Degrees

Ten candidates are contesting from Lucknow in the Lok Sabha elections. Several revelations have come forth from the affidavits submitted to the Election Commission. For instance, both the Defense Minister of India, Rajnath Singh from the BJP, and Sarwar Ali from the Server Party are graduates. Rajnath Singh holds a Bachelor's in Science, while Sarwar Malik has a Bachelor's in Hindi. Conversely, Mohammad Ahmad and Sarwar Malik are candidates without college degrees.

Rajnath Singh Lacks a Vehicle

Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Sarwar Malik owns three vehicles, including an SUV and a mini-truck. Kapil Mohan Chaudhary from the Mera Adhikar Party and Gaurav Varma from the Hindu Samaj Party also possess two four-wheelers each. However, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh doesn't have any personal vehicle. He holds assets worth ₹7.36 crores. According to the affidavits, the Defense Minister owns a .32 bore revolver and a Dunali gun.

Ravindas Faces 18 Police Cases

India Alliance candidate Ravindas Meharotra, contesting from the Lok Sabha seat, faces the highest number of cases. According to his election affidavit, he is involved in 18 cases, mostly related to protest demonstrations and breaching peace. It's worth mentioning that polling will take place on May 20th in Lucknow and Mohanlalganj during the seventh phase.
