Mumbai: An independent MLA in Maharashtra, Bacchu Kadu, stirred controversy after he dragged Bollywood's "dreamgirl", Hema Malini in the farmers suicide issue.
Kadu, while addressing a press conference in Nanded district, said, "Hema Malini consumes alcohol daily. Does she commit suicide?"
He was replying to the claims which said that most of the farmers commit suicide due to their drinking habit.
Denying the claims, Kadu said, "Several MLAs, MPs, journalists drink. Even Hema Malini drinks daily. But do they commit suicide?"
Bacchu Kadu represents the Achalpur (Amravati) constituency in Maharashtra.
