Bhopal: Bharatiya Janata party MLA Rameshwar Sharma gave a controversial statement regarding farmers. He said that those farmers who use to do business of licking subsidy commit suicide.
While addressing a press conference in Bhopal on Friday, Sharma took a jibe at farmers and said, “Mare vo kisaan hain jo kisaan kum aur subsidy chaatne ka vyapaar zyada karte hain. (Those have died who are less of farmers but do business of subsidy licking.)"
He further said that real farmers will never commit suicide. The corrupt farmers who spend money in illegal way, consume liquor have defamed the community of farmers.
Rameshwar Sharma is a Member of Legislative assembly from Hujur Assembly constituency seat of Bhopal.
It could be mentioned that on one hand Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders of the saffron party are promising to waive off the loans of the farmers to gain maximum vote benefit, while on the other hand the MLA of the same party, giving controversial statements regarding the farmers may act negatively.
