Even Dimple Yadav is not safe under Akhilesh Yadav's govt: Smriti Irani

Varanasi: Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani, on Wednesday, hits out at Samajwadi Party's claims about women safety by saying that even Dimple Yadav, the wife of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, is not safe in the state.

Referring to a recent incident, Irani recalls how Dimple was offended by unruly SP workers who were warned by her to be in limits or else she will complaint about it to their 'bhaiya' (Akhilesh Yadav).

Smriti, while addressing a rally in Varanasi on Wednesday, said that the 5-year government of Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh will be remembered only for crimes in the state.

What else Smriti Irani said?

- Akhilesh Yadav promised to provide 24 hour electricity. I want to ask you people in Varanasi, do you get 24-hour electricity?

- Taking a dig at Akhilesh Yadav's step brother, Prateek Yadav, Irani said that he has a Lamborghini worth Rs 5 crore, while people in the state have no money to buy even a cycle.

- It was unfortunate that Supreme Court had to intervene for the registration of FIR against the rape accused former mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati.

Varanasi will go to polls in seventh phase of the UP Assembly Elections on March 8.
