Raipur: Voters have casted their votes in huge number despite the fact that many radical groups active in thee area asked them to boycott voting in the first phase of Chattisgarh Assembly elections 2018, on Monday.
Overall 49.12 percent voter turnout was recorded till 3 pm. Voters have defied all the difficulties and obstacles to cast their precious vote as many old aged people, people with disability, and people from far fetched places were seen at polling booths amid tight security.

The Congress alleged "rampant" EVM rigging in Bastar area but the poll panel rejected the charges.
The second phase of polling in 72 seats, out of the 90-member Assembly, would be held on November 20 and counting of votes would take place on December 11.
