Bhajanlal Sharma elected new Rajasthan CM, Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa elected as Dy CM

Bhajan Lal Sharma's name was approved unanimously in the BJP Legislature Party meeting. He is an MLA from the Sanganer assembly seat in Jaipur. He was the General Secretary of the BJP in Rajasthan. His name was proposed by former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia. His name was announced in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior party leaders.

10 days after the declaration of results, the BJP on Tuesday ended the suspense over the new chief minister of Rajasthan and declared first time MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma its surprise pick for the top post.

Bhajan Lal Sharma's name was approved unanimously in the BJP Legislature Party meeting. He is an MLA from the Sanganer assembly seat in Jaipur. He was the General Secretary of the BJP in Rajasthan. His name was proposed by former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia. His name was announced in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior party leaders.

Along with this, the party has decided that there will be two Deputy CMs in Rajasthan. For this, the names of Prem Chand Bairwa and Diya Kumari have been approved. Vasudev Devnani's name has been finalized for the post of speaker of the Vidhansabha.

Interestingly Sharma was chosen to contest from Sanganer instead of sitting MLA Ashok Lohati. Sharma defeated Pushpendra Bhardwaj of Congress by more than 48 thousand votes. He is a resident of Bharatpur.

56-year-old Bhajan Lal has completed his master's in Political Science from the University of Rajasthan.

According to media reports, the new CM is a millionaire. He has assets of worth Rs1,46,56,666. Also, there is a liability of Rs35 lakh in his name. According to the information given in the affidavit to contest the elections, he has Rs1,15,000 in cash, and about Rs11 lakh is deposited in various bank accounts.

After winning the election, Rajasthan's Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari, Jaipur MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Rajya Sabha member Kirori Lal Meena, and Alwar MP Baba Balak Nath resigned from their posts. After this action, many political analysts were saying that the party might introduce some other face except Vasundhara.
