Lucknow/Jhansi: Being non-committal on the omission of his loyalists from the list of UP assembly candidates of Samajwadi Party, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav assured the discontented lot that he would speak to party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Chief Minister was on day long tour of Jhansi in Bundelkhand when Mulayam released a list of 325 candidates which surprisingly excluded names of some Akhilesh loyalist like former minister Arvind Singh Gope, Pawan Pandey and Ram Govind Choudhary. When his attention was drawn towards this he evaded the direct reply seeking to pacify those who missed out.

On his way back from airport to his residence, Akhilesh stopped his convoy in front of the residence of Ram Govind Choudhary and tried to calm the tempers of his supporters. He reiterated that, he will speak to Mulayam Singh Yadav.

According to political observers the list which was released on Wednesday had stamp of state party president Shivpal Yadav. It may be recalled Akhilesh had submitted his list of 403 candidates to Mulayam eliciting strong reaction from Shivpal Yadav who had tweeted on Monday that the names of only 175 candidates as yet.
