EC appoints 11 observers in Lucknow to monitor UP Elections

Lucknow: At the time when the bureaucracy has been waiting with bated breath, the action of Election Commission on the officers close to present regime in Uttar Pradesh in view of Uttar Pradesh polls 2017, first casualty was two rather junior officers in the rank of Deputy SP.

The EC ordered transfer of Ratan Singh Yadav and Ashok Kumar Verma considered close to SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav respectively.

Ratan Singh was attached to Director General of Police (DGP) office while Ashok Verma was posted as Circle Officer, Hazratganj in the state capital and now shifted to PAC in Jhansi and Kanpur respectively.

The BJP had filed complaints about both the officials who had been known for working in a partisan manner in the favour of ruling party. It was the magnitude of the complaints that EC issued the first marching orders for them while every one was expecting the axe to fall on high ranking officials.
