The only Sanskrit newspaper published in Karnataka may close

Bengaluru: The only Sanskrit newspaper in the country, Sudharma, is facing serious financial crisis and may fold-up if steps are not taken soon to change the situation. Published in Mysore.the paper began its journey in early 'seventies.

The paper management is tapping all sources to overcome the crisis. It has also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Rajnath Singh and some other ministers to come to its rescue.

" We need support. The yearly subscription of this newspaper is mere Rs 400 and the circulation is coming down", it has told these dignitaries. There has been no response so far, said editor of the newspaper, Sampath Kumar.

The paper has also put out an advertisement requesting donation from public. Founded by Kalale Nadadur Varadraja Iyengar the paper has 3000 circulation. It electronic version is being read in several foreign nations including Israel.
