Sambhal: Cracking a whip on Police, for the first time since Yogi Adityanath took over as the Chief Minister, the Uttar Pradesh government removed two senior police officers from Sambhal district, apparently on the charge of laxity.

The state government shifted the District Police Chief Balendu Bhushan Singh and Additional SP Ram Murat Yadav for not taking effective action in the case related to attack on police force which was on its way to shut an illegal slaughter house in the district. Both the officers,subsequently,been attached to DGP headquarters in Lucknow till further orders, an official spokesman said.

It is said that the UP CM was not happy with the handling of the case in which no action was taken despite two cases were registered on complaints of Nakhasa Inspector and Tehsildar.

Ravi Shankar Chhavi and Pankaj Kumar Pandey are the new SP and Addl SP of Sambhal, respectively.

It may be mentioned that locals attacked a team of police officers and few administrative officers who went to raid an illegal slaughter slaughter house in the area. Three cops including a police sub-inspector had sustained serious injuries in the assault.

Meanwhile, Moradabad Commissioner, L Venkateshwar Loo and DIG Onkar Singh also reached Sambhal to hold a meeting with police officers and plan out action against those involved in the violent attack on cops.
