Lucknow: The curtains were finally rung down on rather long drama which was a straight lift from any Alfred Hitchcock's mystery unveiling the name of Yogi Adityanath as 22nd Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

The decision to this effect was taken at the Bharatiya Janata Party legislature party meeting in the presence of central observers M Venkaiah Nadu and Bhupendra Yadav which took place at Lok Bhawan in the state capital but not before the media slugfest proved itself wrong again, second time in a week after predicting UP assembly poll results all wrong.

The five-time member of Lok Sabha from Gorakhpur parliamentary constituency Yogi, the Mahant of Goraksh Peeth in the Eastern Uttar Pradesh district of Gorakhpur, will take oath of the office at 14.15 pm in already decked up Smiriti Upvan on Sunday.

Meanwhile, BJP has reportedly announced the names of Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma as the Deputy Chief Ministers.

The name of Adityanath came up only on Saturday after names of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Railways and Telecom Minister of State Manoj Sinha, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Swatantra Dev Singh and Sidharth Nath Singh were doing rounds. In fact, the speculative reports had almost sealed the name of Manoj Sinha.

There were day-long hectic parleys of BJP leaders before deciding on his name. Earlier, he was called to Delhi from where he was flown to Lucknow to participate in the legislature party meeting. Yogi has six-month time to get elected to either house of the state legislature as currently he is member of parliament.
