Lucknow: Ajit Singh-led Rashtriya Lok Dal rubbished the alliance of 'big' parties in Uttar Pradesh in the coming assembly elections while espousing the cause of truck of smaller outfits.

Talking to 'newstrack.com', the RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary discounted the reports of his party joining the alliance of the ruling Samajwadi Party and Congress terming the reports in this regard as ' concocted' and 'baseless' . '' To me, it seems to be a conspiracy against RLD and my party's move to unite smaller parties in view of ensuing assembly polls in UP,'' he said.

Questioning the timing of the media reports about alliance of SP-Congress-RLD, the 'Chote Chauddhary, son of Ajit Singh, said the participation of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar and Janta Dal (S) leader Daanish Ali in a big meeting of RLD in Charthwal in Muzzafarnagar district triggered off the news of big alliance. '' It was definitely aimed at derailing the process of smaller parties coming together,'' he said while asserting '' RLD has not spoken to SP or Congress about any alliance which is ruled out at the moment.''

He sought to appeal to his partymen not to be misled by such malicious reports of big alliance and take their political position by serving the cause of farmers and down-trodden class by following the secular polity.
