Mhow: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid glowing tributes to the architect of Indian constitution Dr Bheem Rao Ambedkar at his birth place Kalipatan in Mhow cantonment.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other dignitaries on the occasion.
Modi spent around 15 minutes at the Ambedkar memorial at Mhow.
Highlights of Modi's speech at Mhow:
- It is my privilege that I am here, on the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar. I bow to this land.
- I want to compliment the MP govt. Work here began during Patwa ji's time & carried forward by Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
- Dr. Ambedkar fought against injustice in society. His was a fight for equality and dignity.
- From 14 to 24 April 'Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday' movement is being held.
- As far as developing our villages is concerned, a lot has to be done. Economic growth can't only happen in few cities.
- This year's budget is fully dedicated to the villages and the farmers.
- All our development initiatives have to be centred around rural development.

- Digital connectivity is essential in our villages. This is difficult to do, yes, but we need to make a start somewhere.
