Lucknow: The posting of Amit Singh , a senior railway officer, currently on deputation to Ministry of External Affairs as Regional Passport Officer (RPO) of Lucknow, as the Special Secretary to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has run into a 'procedural entangle'.

A 2000-batch Indian Railway Stores Services (IRSS) officer was to join the UP government after obtaining clearance from his parent department of Railways and MEA, the ministry of his current posting. It is perceived that the IAS bureaucracy has not been all happy over appointment of Railway officer in the CM's secretariat which might be the stumbling block for him.

Amit, originally from North Eastern Railway (NER) , had joined as RPO, Lucknow only few months ago. The Yogi government has requisitioned him to post him in the Chief Minister’s secretariat.
