Lucknow: A total of 17 patients died in the last three days while the junior doctors continued to hold strike at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh.

The doctors are protesting against the government’s decision to cancel their admissions and to hold fresh ones on the basis of Uttar Pradesh Post Graduate Medical Entrance Exam’s (UPPGMEE’s) revised merit list. The new list was drawn following the Supreme Court’s interim order of 30 per cent additional marks weightage to Provincial Medical Health Services (PMHS) candidates.
