New Delhi: Giving desperate efforts in searching missing Indian Air Force AN-32 aircraft, government on Friday asked US for assistance in the search mission which is being missed since July 22.

Addressing Rajya Sabha on Friday, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said-

  • The government is seeking help from American defence forces to ascertain whether their satellites had picked up any signal before the disappearance of the plane.
  • At the time of disappearance, the aircraft was on secondary/passive radar and there was no SOS or transmission of any frequency.
  • It is total blank and there was not even a single signal recorded.
  • That is the reason we are contacting American defence forces to ascertain whether their satellites picked up any signal.

Hoping for some good, Parrikar said that each and every technique has been used to locate the missing aircraft.

Indian Air Force AN-32 aircraft, which was on a routine weekly courier duty for Air Force Personnel went missing with 29 persons on board.
