Ghaziabad: The senior IAS officer Rajiv Kumar, convicted in a land allotment case, on Monday surrendered before the special CBI court here on Monday before he was taken into judicial custody and was sent to jail.

Rajiv Kumar, a 1983-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre Indian Administrative Service officer was an accused in the illegal allotment of plots in Noida Authority as Additional CEO while the then CEO Neera Yadav, also an accused is already in the jail in this connection.
In the matter dated back to 2002, he was held guilty and handed three-year sentence by the court after CBI probe into the matter. He appealed in the High Court but his appeal was rejected on February 25 last which prompted him to approach the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court on March 28 had asked him to surrender within four weeks which he did on Monday.
