Mayawati's brother in trouble; court orders FIR against Anand Kumar

Noida: A case has been ordered to be registered against Anand Kumar, the brother of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, on the charge of duping a woman of above Rs 13.7 lakhs.

The direction to this effect was given by additional chief judicial magistrate (second) of Gautam Buddh Nagar (Nodia) on the application of one Mrs Manju Sharma under section 156 (3) of CrPC.

She had alleged that Anand Kumar along with several others posing themselves as directors of Elexir Builcon Pvt Ltd and Impel Infrastructure Pvt Ltd took from her a total of 13.7 lakh rupees for booking a flat.

Later she found out that there was no construction and companies did not exist. She was also threatened of dire consequences if she demanded her money back.

Taking cognizance of the plea, the court directed on Thursday to lodge an FIR in Surajpur Police Station of Noida and inform of the action taken in seven days.
