BRD Deaths: FIR against 9 accused including oxygen supplier firm

Lucknow: Former principal of Gorakhpur's BRD medical college Rajiv Mishra and Manish Bhandari of Pushpa Sales are among those named in a FIR lodged in connection with the death of over 60 children from August 9 to August 11 at the hospital.

FIR was lodged under Sections 420, 308 and 120b of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Besides, Section 7/13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 15 of the Indian Medical Council Act.

Those named in the FIRs are -

Maneesh Bhandari (Pushpa Sales)

Uday Pratap (Audit Department)

Sanjay (Clerk, BRD Hospital)

Sudheer (Clerk, BRD Hospital)

Dr. RK Mishra (Suspended Principal of BRD)

Dr. Purnima Shukla (Wife of Dr. RK Mishra)

Dr. Kafeel Khan (HOD, 100 bed ward)

Gajanan Jaiswal (Chief Pharmacist)

Dr. Sateesh (HOD, Anesthesia and oxygen supply dept.)

It is worth mentioning that the action has been taken on basis on the probe report submitted by the Chief Secretary.

It may be recalled that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had ordered Chief Secretary Rajive Kumar to investigate the deaths of the innocent children. He, on Monday, had submitted his probe report, which led to the suspension of Principal Secretary Medical Education Anita Bhatnagar Jain.
