Yajuvendra Chahal creates history, first player to do so in Indian cricket history

In the 56th match of IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals spinner Yajuvendra Chahal created history. At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bowl first, after which Delhi Capitals scored 221 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs with the help of half-centuries from openers Abhishek Porel and Jake Fraser-McGurk. In this match, Yuzvendra Chahal got the only success in the form of Rishabh Pant. Chahal proved to be very expensive in the match and he gave 48 runs in four overs. However, he created history by taking the wicket of Pant.

Actually, in the form of Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal took the 350th wicket of his career in T20 cricket and Chahal has become the first Indian bowler to reach this milestone in T20 cricket. Yuzvendra Chahal is the first Indian to take 350 wickets in T20 cricket. No Indian bowler before him has been able to accomplish this feat. With this, Yuzvendra Chahal has joined the list of spin bowlers who have taken 350 or more wickets in T20 cricket. Before this, only Rashid Khan, Sunil Narine, Imran Tahir, Shakib Al Hasan have been able to achieve this feat.

If we talk about the match, after being invited to bat first, Delhi Capitals got a fast start by the pair of Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porel. Both of them made a partnership of 60 runs for the first wicket in just 4.2 overs. Jake Fraser-McGurk scored 50 runs in 20 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes. Whereas Abhishek Porel played an inning of 65 runs in 36 balls with seven fours and three sixes.

After the dismissal of these two, Delhi's batting faltered. But in the end, Tristan Stubbs played an inning of 41 runs with the help of three sixes and three fours in 20 balls, taking Delhi's score beyond 200. Delhi team was successful in adding 53 runs in the last three overs. Ravichandran Ashwin was the most successful bowler for Rajasthan Royals, taking three wickets for 24 runs.
