#UnnaoRapeVictim: Infected with deadly bacteria, 6 out of 7 antibiotics failed

Unnao Rape: Struggling for her life after the horrific car accident, at one of India's best hospitals, AIIMS Delhi, Unnao rape victime has now been diagnosed with a deadly bacteria in her blood sample.

Her agony seems not to end any sooner. From allegedly being raped by an influential political leader to getting life threats, witnessing deaths of her family members and relatives getting slammed and arrested under false charges, this girl has seen all. In an attempt to get the rape case closed, her car was rammed by a truck (she survived the accident with several fractures and still fighting for her life in the hospital), while, all other got not so lucky and died either on the spot or in the hospital. Recently, the victim was found suffering with pneumonia and now report of her's infected with a deadly bacteria is surfacing the internet.

However, her worsening condition and mass protest in her favour compelled government to shift her from Lucknow's King George Medical University (KGMU) hospital to AIIMS, Delhi, but her health seems getting deteriorated day-by-day.

Where, at AIIMS, the victim was supposed to show some positive signs in her medical treatment but as per new reports her blood sample shows some horrifying results. The girl is infected with a bacteria so advanced and deadly that six out of 7 antibiotics have been found ineffective against it.

The blood sample collected at KGMU for her blood culture suggests that the victim is infected with a very deadly bacteria, which is quite rare and is found in feces.

Entericococcus bacteria, a multi drug resistance, which mostly neutralizes antibiotics has been found in the blood culture of the victim during treatment at the trauma center. And now KGMU will send this culture to the AIIMS.

According to KGMU spokesperson Dr. Sandeep Tiwari, the effect of the major antibiotic given to patients admitted to the ICU was tested. Seven antibiotics were tested in drug sensitivity testing in the lab. Six antibiotics were found to be ineffective on the victim.

According to experts, how it reached the blood of the victim is ascertained.

It is to be mentioned that the girl was seriously injured in Rae Bareli road accident and was admitted to the trauma center in Lucknow, where she was treated in the ventilator unit. Later, on August 5, on the instructions of the Supreme Court, the victim was airlifted and shifted to AIIMS Hospital in Delhi.
