CBI's senior public prosecutor JP Sharma has claimed that this is the first such case in history of India where a single person has been awarded death penalty in seven different cases. Nine other cases related to Nithari serial killing are still pending in the court.

Koli claimed after the court's verdict that he didn't sign the paper of his death sentence because the court didn't hear his pleas.
