Chennai: VK Sasikala Natarajan on Saturday penned a letter to Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao for an appointment with him along with her MLAs for discussion over the government formation in the state.
In the letter, she has claimed that she has the support of majority of MLAs and wanted to stake claim to form her government in the state. She also clarified that it has been seven days since acting Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam resigned.
"...taking the urgency of the situation at hand, I would like to seek an appointment with Your Excellency by today with all MLAs (Members of Legislative Assembly) who extended their support to me regarding further course of action to form the Government," Sasikala told Rao.
"I believe Your Excellency will act immediately to save the Sovereignty of the Constitution, democracy and the interest of the State," the letter notes.
Earlier on Friday, TN Governor reportedly clarified that he will only take the final call over the issue of chief ministership after the Supreme Court delivers its verdict in the disproportionate assets case against Sasikala.
