President Draupadi Murmu, in her address to the joint meeting of both the houses for the first time in the 18th Lok Sabha on Thursday, presented the vision of the Modi government for the next 5 years and also made a mention of Emergency, Paper Leaks, CAA and Kashmir.

Murmu said that the 18th Lok Sabha was a historic Lok Sabha in many ways as it was established in the early years of Amrit Kaal.

She said that decades of voting records have been broken in the Kashmir valley. She also referred to the recent Lok Sabha polls and said that the world watched the people of India forming a stable and clear majority government for the third time in a row. The 2024 Lok Sabha election is being discussed all over the world.

''Today's India is known not for increasing the challenges of the world but for providing solutions to the world. As a world brother, India has taken initiatives to solve many global problems. From climate change to food security, from nutrition to sustainable agriculture, we are providing many solutions,'' the President said.

There was also a hint of budget in the President's address. Murmu said that the public has faith in the government. The government believes in continuity. We have faith in the resolve of developed India. The resolve to reform, perform and transform has made India the fastest growing economy in the world today. India's development pace will be accelerated. Continuity of growth is the guarantee of my government. Historic steps will be seen in the upcoming budget. 20 thousand crores were transferred to the farmers. We will make the farmers more and more self-reliant.

The government is giving equal importance to all three pillars of the economy - manufacturing, services and agriculture. Large scale investment and employment opportunities are increasing due to PLI schemes and ease of doing business. Along with traditional sectors, sunrise sectors are also being promoted on mission mode.

The address also mentioned the government's policies and achievements on farming. The world's largest storage scheme was introduced in the cooperative sector. Rs 3 lakh 20 thousand crore was given under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. At the beginning of the new year's tenure, an amount of more than 20 thousand crores has been transferred to the farmers. There has been a record increase in the MSP of Kharif crops. The supply chain is being strengthened in view of the demand for organic products. Nowadays the demand for organic products is increasing rapidly in the world. The farmers of the country have full capacity to meet this demand, so the government is strengthening the supply chain of natural farming and related products.

She said that the government is also trying to make women save as much as possible. We are aware of the popularity of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana which gives higher interest to daughters on deposits in bank accounts. Women are benefiting greatly from the scheme of free ration and cheap gas cylinders. Now my government has also brought a scheme to make electricity bills zero and earn money by selling electricity. Under the PM Suryagarh Free Electricity Scheme, solar panels are being installed on the roof of the house. For this, my government is providing assistance of up to Rs 78 thousand per family. In such a short time, more than one crore families have registered in this scheme.
