PM Modi pitches for creating 'New India' at Smart India Hackathon

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that his initiatives like 'new India' 'smart cities' and 'cashless transactions' revolve around the information technology and budding innovators have a major role to play in a foolproof technological advancement.

Addressing over 10,000 participants in the Smart India Hackathon via video conference, PM pitched for the enhancement of technology to find out a durable solution for day-to-day problems.

It may be mentioned that the Smart India Hackathon was an HRD ministry initiative to promote innovation, especially among engineering students.

What else PM Modi said?

  • To develop a new India, it is important to convert demographic dividend into development dividend.
  • For this, shift your focus on skill engagement optimisation.
  • Zero was invented in India and it traveled from Upnishads to Upgrah (satellites).
  • Over 29 ministers are exercising continuously for the execution of the Centre's initiative towards building a new India.
  • Society is getting technology-driven and it is important to use more information technology for the day-to-day problems faced by people.

  • This is the biggest illusion.
  • Government lacks several ideas and it needs a solution for problems from people outside the government.
  • Come forward; send suggestions; share the innovative ideas with us.
  • Innovation is the foundation of future and history is written by those who challenge the existing order.
  • Government has launched start-up India and Mudra scheme to help innovators.
