New Delhi: In a view of taking firm action against the culprits of the Uri Attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, met the chiefs of Indian Defence Forces on Saturday to discuss the prevailing security conditions.

The PM held a meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh, Air Chief Marshall Arup Saha and the Naval Vice Admiral and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval at his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.

Besides discussing the prevailing security situation in the country, the PM also discussed country’s response to the Uri attack on Indian Army soldiers.

The Prime Minister will leave for Kerala, later in the day, where he is scheduled to address BJP office bearers in Kohikode.

Modi is expected to break his silence on the government's response to the terror attack on the Army base.

The PM, however, had earlier condemned the attack in strongly worded tweet and had stated that he would not let the perpetrators go unpunished.

The Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had also supported Modi and had asserted that the Prime Minister's promise to punish those behind the Uri terror attack would not remain just words.
