NTPC Boiler Blast: Rahul Gandhi to visit Rae Bareli on Thursday

New Delhi: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will visit Rae Bareli on Thursday morning, where at least 20 people were killed in a boiler blast at a unit of NTPC.

"Due to the unfortunate NTPC accident, I will visit Rae Bareli tomorrow morning. Will join Gujarat Navsarjan Yatra in the afternoon," he said in a tweet.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi also expressed shock and horror at the tragic incident in her constituency Rae Bareli and asked party workers to help in the relief operations.

"I express shock and horror at the terrible tragedy in Rae Bareli, where many people lost their lives in a boiler blast in NTPC and several others injured today," Sonia Gandhi said in a statement.

Conveying her deepest condolences to the families of the bereaved, the Congress President urged the authorities to provide immediate medical assistance to the injured.

She would not be able to visit her constituency as she is not keeping well.
