LIC borrows advertisement idea from infamous Samajwadi Party feud

Latur: The internal spat in Samajwadi Party (SP) gave an innovative idea to the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) which has advertised its retirement plan giving the example of the feud between party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav.

The ad has been circulated through posters across Latur district of Maharashtra.

The poster shows the cartoon images of Akhilesh riding the cycle and Mulayam Singh shaking hands with him. The quote on the poster reads, "Don’t depend on your children for your Retirement." It further adds, "Kuch Bhi ho sakta hai bhai."

It asks old age people to 'Build your Retirement corpus NOW'.

Finding it defaming, social activist Ram Jewar registered a police complaint in Shivaji Nagar Police Station.

The poster, however, was removed from the LIC office after it sparked a controversy.
