Karnataka youth arrested for morphing Prime Minister's photo

Bengaluru: A Karnataka youth, Mohammed Maheboob, was arrested by the police from Gangavathi town in Koppala district, on Monday evening, for uploading a morphed photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and posting it on Facebook.

He was arrested by the Karnataka police after a local BJP unit lodged a complaint against him.

  • Mehboob is a jweller in Karnataka.
  • He posted a picture of Modi seeking the blessings of AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s brother Akbaruddin Owaisi, on Facebook, on Sunday.
  • He had used the picture of Modi seeking the blessings of senior BJP leader L K Advani and altered it in such a manner that it looked as if Modi was seeking the blessings of Owaisi.
  • This had led to unrest among the BJP supporters in Gangavathi .
