Mehbooba Mufti gives financial assistance to pellet victims

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has called a cabinet meeting on Tuesday to discuss the ‘volatile’ situation in the valley.

The Cabinet will meet at 1400 hours in the Civil Secretariat to discuss the situation emerging in Kashmir since the April 9 protests and clashes in which eight civilians were killed by government forces in Budgam and Ganderbal districts of the state.

The situation has become so much difficult to handle that the J&K government has decided to close all schools of the valley and the worsening condition of the state has prompted the CM to take immediate action.

The government sources said “There is a possibility that top officials from civil administration and police would brief the cabinet about the prevailing situation in Kashmir.”
