The Enforcement Directorate (ED) may file a charge sheet in the special PMLA court on March 30 against former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in the 8.46-acre land scam in Ranchi's Bargain area. The agency has almost completed the investigation in this case. Hemant Soren was arrested on 31 January. His 60 days of judicial custody are completing on March 30. As a rule, it is mandatory to file a charge sheet within 60 days of someone's arrest.

It is noteworthy that after his arrest, ED had taken Hemant Soren on remand and started questioning him from February 3. On the orders of the court, his remand period was extended twice and he was interrogated for a total of 13 days on many points including transactions in purchase of land, WhatsApp chatting, transfer and posting of officers.
